The Rocky Point
Trail is one of the most popular trails on Long Island. It
is great for riders of all abilities with lots of varried
terrain. The main loop is around 16 miles or so. There are
a number of advanced (Black Diamond) sections which are optional
and if ridden bring the total milage of the trail up to around
20. The trail closes for several months ( usually November
through March) during the year and a DEC permit is needed
to gain access to the trail. A helmet and glasses are required
safety equipment when riding this and all of the trails on
this website. The trail is maintained by the DEC and C.L.I.M.B.
with work parties held once a month when the trail is open.
There is also a seperate family trail which is great for beginners
who have never off road before.
