The tried and true 26″ wheel size has been around for ages and for good reason. The smaller wheel size allows for quick handling in tight sections of trail and has a real “get up and go” feeling. It seems that much of the market is moving to larger wheel sizes so, for now, they are typically found at lower price points.
As wheel size and ride-ability increase, the handling characteristics become progressively slower. The 27.5″ wheel size is the best of both worlds. It’s perfect for a rider that refuses to compromise handling characteristics for a more confidant ride.
With big wheels comes big responsibility. As the wheel size increases riders are able to lean farther into turns, roll over larger obstacles and just generally get going faster. Are you up for what the 29″ wheel size offers?
